Biography

David Maguire hails from Ballinasloe, County Galway in the west of Ireland. David grew up listening to his parents records of Gene Stewart, Margo O.Donnell, Mick Flavin to name but a few.

After teaching himself how to play guitar David’s parents could see that David had a great interest in not just country music but Rock n Roll too. Time went on and David became a big fan of the music of Mark Knopfler and his band Dire Straits.

He spent 6 years at Garbally College, Ballinasloe where music was a big part of his time there. David formed many bands and was part of the School Folk Choir in which he played guitar and sang. After sitting his Leaving Cert, David went to University in Aberystwyth, Wales where he studied a B.Sc in Animal Science. David of course brought his guitar with him.

David became very popular on the local circuit playing pubs and lounges and had a big following.

To date as an artist David Maguire has released his debut album titled Four Walls. The title track from the album is a song which he wrote himself along with Close to My Heart and Nights of Summertime. David is currently organising the recording of his second album Check out David's music online. David has appeared on stage with some of the finest stars in country such as Philomena Begley, John Hogan, T.R Dallas and Mike Denver.
